National Show Hunter Hall of Fame Rider and Trainer Louise Serio Joins as Practical Horseman OnDemand Continues to Expand

National Show Hunter Hall of Fame rider and trainer Louise Serio shares her wealth of knowledge with Practical Horseman OnDemand members in her new video training series. The subscription video-on-demand service features numerous hunter, show jumping, equitation and eventing professionals in exclusive training videos available to its membership. Serio, who summers in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, and winters in Loxahatchee, Florida, owns and operates Derbydown, one of the foremost and nationally recognized show barns in the country. Originally founded in 1947 by her mother, Mary Warner Brown, Derbydown is a full-service training, boarding, showing, and sales business focusing on hunters, jumpers and equitation. After growing up on the farm, and having her mother as her teacher, in 1975, Louise continued the tradition and began training at Derbydown. She has consistently trained and ridden champions in every division at the most prestigious shows on the East Coast. Serio is a two-time WCHR Professional Rider Champion and WCHR Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular winner. She has been Leading Lady rider at Devon, has been award the Old Springhouse Trophy for Lifetime Achievement and has been named the Chronicle of the Horse Hunter Horse Person of the Year. She has also represented the United States as part of the WCHR Hunter Team defeating the European Team at the 2009 World Cup Finals and the USHJA International Hunter Derby Team at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. Serio was inducted into the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame in 2012. Her clients and horses have qualified for Indoors, Devon, Junior Hunter Finals, USEF Junior Medal Finals, Maclay Finals and Pony Finals for the past 30 years. As a USHJA Certified Trainer, Serio has dedicated her life to providing the best for her clients and their horses. In her series on Practical Horseman OnDemand, Serio gives members an inside look into some of her lessons, focusing on rhythm and relaxing the horses on the flat and over fences.
